Northwest Mississippi Community College spotlights surgical technology student

Shauntia Stevenson of Olive Branch is in her final semester of the Surgical Technology Program at Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Oxford Campus, the college said during National Surgical Technologists Week.

Before graduation, students in the program complete classroom and lab instruction and extensive clinical training across a wide variety of surgical specialties as they prepare to enter the profession.

The college said the spotlight on Stevenson was part of an observance recognizing its surgical technology students and the skilled professionals who serve as essential members of operating room teams and contribute to patient care.
