Tupelo man charged with assault and weapons possession after Jan. 6 shooting
Tupelo police arrested Malik Huddleston, 21, on Jan. 6 after a shooting on Kirksey Circle. Officers responded around 7:52 a.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot and located an adult victim at North Mississippi Medical Center with a serious but non-life-threatening injury.
Investigators reviewed video footage from surveillance cameras, including those operated by the Tupelo Housing Authority, through the department’s Real-Time Command Center and Fusus system.
Huddleston was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. On Jan. 8, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered him held without bond. The case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, police said.
