Juveniles charged with attempted auto burglary in Starkville

Two juveniles were charged with attempted auto burglary after police responded to reports of vehicle door handle attempts in Starkville.

Officers with the Starkville Police Department found and detained two boys, ages 14 and 13, on Monday evening, January 5, 2026, around 6:30 p.m., in the Park Circle area.

Investigators charged each juvenile with two counts of attempted auto burglary. The incident is unrelated to earlier arrests made in the same area that morning.

The police department urges parents and guardians to monitor their children’s activities, especially during evening hours. Community safety relies on parental supervision and involvement, officials say.
