The Town of Tunica is inviting the community to attend its 9/11 Memorial Program to remember, honor and reflect on the lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
The Tunica County Sheriff's Office said the observance also honors families who were forever changed and first responders who ran toward danger. The message described the program as a gathering to remember those who never returned home.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
