The Vicksburg Police Department will host National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at Halls Ferry Park, 257 Halls Ferry Park Road.
The community event will include free hamburgers and hot dogs, food trucks, retail vendors, a DJ, musical chairs and games. The department described the gathering as an evening of community, connection, food, music and family activities.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
