Lee County sheriff’s team participates in church safety training in Hamilton

Sheriff Jim H. Johnson and members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department participated in Church Safety and Active Shooter Training at First Baptist Church Hamilton in Hamilton, Alabama, according to a department post.

Johnson thanked Pastor Jeremy Sorrells and FBC Security Director Tommy Mason for hosting and inviting the team. Lt. Putt and the team taught and spoke about church security, safety and ways to better serve and protect communities.

The team also met Marion County, Alabama, Sheriff Williams and Hamilton Police Chief Carter, who were pictured with them, the post said. Johnson expressed appreciation to the church for its hospitality and commitment to creating a safer church and community.
