Greenville’s Mid-Delta Airport is being promoted as a direct gateway to the heart of the Delta, with visitors able to reach the region’s music, food, history and hospitality upon arrival.
The promotion encourages travelers to fly directly into their River Road destination rather than land miles away. Organizations listed with the message include Visit Mississippi, the Mississippi Development Authority, the City of Greenville, Greenville-Washington County, the Mississippi Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Delta Business Journal and the Mississippi Business Journal.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
