Deputy Chris Rogers receives Valor of Service Award at 9/11 memorial walk

Marion County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chris Rogers was presented with the Valor of Service Award during the annual Marion County and Columbia Emergency Services 9/11 Memorial Walk.

Rogers serves with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and is a retired U.S. Army veteran who served for 21 years. He also serves his community as a firefighter.

The memorial walk honors those who died on Sept. 11, 2001, including 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers and eight emergency medical services personnel, as well as thousands of civilians.
