A Facebook post announced that Spartan Composites will invest $49 million in Mississippi, calling the move “another great advanced manufacturing win for our state” and saying it is the latest example of attracting the jobs of the next 50 years.
The company name suggests work in composite materials and advanced manufacturing, a sector that uses engineered materials to make lighter, stronger components for industries such as aerospace, automotive and energy. Composite manufacturing has grown in recent years as companies seek materials that improve fuel efficiency and performance.
