Mississippi ranked No. 12 nationally for doing business in 2026 report

Area Development ranked Mississippi No. 12 in the nation for doing business in its 2026 Top States for Doing Business report, according to the Mississippi Development Authority.

The ranking was based on input from 50 site selection consultants who evaluated 20 factors influencing corporate location and investment decisions.

Mississippi ranked No. 2 for labor cost competitiveness, No. 6 for business incentives, No. 7 for overall cost of doing business and No. 8 for overall speed to market.

The Mississippi Development Authority said the rankings highlight the state’s business climate, speed to market and operating costs as factors drawing attention from site selectors nationwide.
