Jabil expands in Mississippi nine months after first Marshall County site

Jabil is expanding operations in Mississippi just nine months after announcing a Marshall County location, a Facebook post said. The post described the development as especially impressive and said the company would not be making the investment unless it was confident that Mississippi and her people can deliver results.

Jabil Inc. is a global manufacturing services company that provides electronics manufacturing and supply chain solutions to customers in industries including healthcare, industrial, aerospace and consumer electronics. The company is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Manufacturing expansions can bring new economic activity to local communities through supplier demand and hiring, though the Facebook post did not provide specific details on the size of the investment, the number of jobs or a timeline for the expansion.

Local and state economic development officials have in recent years actively pursued manufacturing projects to stimulate job growth and diversify regional economies. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
