General Atomics announces $87 million Mississippi expansion, 125 new jobs
General Atomics is expanding its operations in Mississippi with an $87 million investment and plans to create 125 new jobs, according to the Mississippi Development Authority.
The project will add a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Shannon and increase the company’s production capabilities for advanced weapons systems and precision-strike programs.
The announcement comes four months after General Atomics disclosed a $25 million investment in its Shannon operations. It marks the company’s 15th expansion in Lee County, where it has operated for more than two decades.
