Long Awaited Dreams of Tupelo Target Location May Be Coming True

For many years, Tupelo shoppers have asked for a Target store to be brought to the area. Now, after thousands of requests and , Tupelo officials might be making Mississippian dreams come true.

According to the Tupelo Daily Journal, a public hearing will be held by the Tupelo Planning Committee on September 30 at 6:00 p.m. This hearing will be held in order to discuss rezoning of 113.14 acres of land across from Commonwealth Boulevard. This land is projected to be used in a development project, for which the details are currently unknown.

The Target website has a list of upcoming opening locations, and at present, Tupelo, Mississippi is not listed among them. However, the plans that the Daily Journal acquired following a Freedom of Information Act request, Target Corporation has plans to build an outlet at the North Gloster site.
