Scattered thunderstorms develop, with damaging winds possible

Scattered thunderstorms began developing across the area early this afternoon, according to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi.

Some storms could become severe during the afternoon and early evening, with the potential for damaging wind gusts.
