Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Methamphetamine Arrest
A felony amount of methamphetamine was seized during an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, Mississippi.
This seiuze came during a nighttime Narcotics Operations, in the Northeast section of Pontotoc County, according to the Pontotoc County SD.
After the suspect commited a traffic violation, the officer saw something being thrown out of the passenger window while the officer attempted to pull the driver over.
The driver was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance, which he admitted was meth, along with some misdemeanor charges.
Arrested was Dennis Shawn Lyons, a 51 year-old Lake, Florida resident.
Lyons was booked in to the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department Adult Detention Center and charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. A Pontotoc County Justice Court Judge set the perpetrators bond at $10,000.
