OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi — Flooding has closed several roadways in Ocean Springs, the Ocean Springs Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page.
The department said South Ocean Springs Road is blocked; Groveland Road into Parktown is impassable; Deana Road at Highway 90 and Groveland Road is blocked; both sides of Riley Road at Old CCC Road are impassable; and Oakley Road at Highway 90 is flooded and impassable.
Authorities urged drivers to avoid the affected areas and seek alternate routes. The department warned drivers not to attempt to drive through flooded roadways and noted that conditions can change rapidly. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown,” the post said, a reminder that even shallow water can be dangerous.
