Toppers sweep doubleheader, improve to 13-0
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian continued its historic start to the 2025-26 season Thursday, sweeping a doubleheader to improve to 13-0, the best start in program history, the school said.
In Game One, the Toppers controlled the tempo from the opening inning and finished with 10 hits. Maryn Macri, Mikaylah Fuqua, Karen Wisher, Rachel Rommel and Neely Barrier each drove in runs, and Barrier delivered a key extra-base hit in a late inning, Blue Mountain Christian said.
Madison Montgomery worked all seven innings in the circle, allowing just one run. The Toppers committed no errors and made routine plays behind their pitcher, the school said.
The momentum carried into Game Two as Blue Mountain Christian jumped out early and scored in multiple innings. Macri led the offense with a multi-RBI performance while several others contributed to a balanced attack. The pitching staff combined to hold the opponent scoreless and allowed two hits in the shutout, and the defense again turned in a steady outing, the school said.
The two wins extend Blue Mountain Christian’s unbeaten start and set a new program standard. The Toppers are next scheduled to play at Crowley’s Ridge College on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
