The Mississippi High School Sports Page shared a message congratulating a person described as “our guy” and expressing support while that person is away from the community. The post said the person was still able to check in from the railroads and encouraged him to keep going.

A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
