Meridian recalls 1926 Mississippi State-Alabama game ahead of Saturday matchup

Meridian is highlighting its connection to Mississippi State and Alabama football ahead of the teams’ matchup this Saturday in Starkville.

In 1926, an undefeated Mississippi State team played Alabama at the fairgrounds in Meridian. Alabama won the game 26-7.

The undefeated Bulldogs are scheduled to welcome the Tide to Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on Saturday. Meridian officials said supporters of both teams are welcome in the city.
