Bryant earns SSAC baseball player of week honors
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Blue Mountain Christian outfielder Jacob Bryant has been named the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week after a standout showing in a three-game conference series against Brewton-Parker Christian.
Bryant recorded six hits in 14 at-bats for a 0.429 batting average. Five of his six hits went for extra bases, including three home runs, and he finished the series with a 1.214 slugging percentage and 17 total bases.
The power surge provided a steady presence in the middle of the Toppers’ lineup and helped fuel the team’s offense throughout the weekend. Taylor Clark, Blue Mountain Christian’s head coach, praised Bryant’s approach and impact.
“Jacob had a tremendous weekend for us,” Clark said. “He was locked in at the plate and consistently gave us quality at-bats. When a hitter is seeing the ball that well and driving it the way he did, it energizes the entire lineup. We’re proud of the way he competed and represented our program.” The award recognizes the conference’s top weekly performer. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
