West Point, Ga. — BMCU defeated Point University 73-44 Monday in Southern States Athletic Conference women’s basketball action, using a balanced offensive attack and a stifling defensive effort to control the game from the opening tip.
The Toppers applied pressure on both ends of the floor and sustained intensity through all four quarters, outrebounding the Skyhawks and forcing turnovers that led to transition scores and a growing lead.
Kathryn Echols led BMCU with 16 points. McKenzie Williams anchored the paint with 13 points and 15 rebounds, providing second-chance opportunities. Brooklyn Hodum added 12 points off the bench, Rebecca Walter scored 10 and Maddie Kirk had nine points and five rebounds.
