BMCU tops Point 73-44 in SSAC
WEST POINT, Ga. — BMCU defeated Point University 73-44 on Monday night in Southern States Athletic Conference play, BMCU athletics said. The Toppers used balanced scoring and a physical defensive effort to control the game from the opening tip.
Kathryn Echols led all scorers with 16 points, and McKenzie Williams finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds, anchoring BMCU’s interior play, the school said. Brooklyn Hodum added 12 points off the bench and Rebecca Walter scored 10, while Maddie Kirk contributed nine points and five rebounds.
BMCU outrebounded Point and forced turnovers that translated into key scoring opportunities and extended the lead early, the school said. The Toppers applied sustained pressure on both ends of the floor and maintained intensity through all four quarters.
BMCU will remain on the road for another SSAC matchup at Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 5:30 p.m. The Southern States Athletic Conference is a collegiate league made up of schools in the southeastern United States. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
