Trooper Brylen Edmondson graduates with Cadet Class 70

Trooper Brylen Edmondson graduated with Cadet Class 70 last Friday and was pinned by his father, Trooper and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Agent Bradley Edmondson, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post.

The department oversees training and deployment of state troopers and other public safety functions in Mississippi. Cadet classes provide classroom instruction, physical training and field exercises intended to prepare recruits for law enforcement duties across the state.

Pinning ceremonies are a longstanding tradition in many police and military organizations, symbolizing a recruit’s formal entry into the force and the responsibilities that accompany the badge. The department’s post congratulated Brylen Edmondson as he begins his career serving the people of Mississippi and following in his father’s footsteps.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation provides investigative support to law enforcement agencies statewide, and the pairing of a trooper son and a trooper and MBI agent father underscores a familial link in public service. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
