Suspect arrested after vehicle pursuit near Starkville
STARKVILLE, Miss. — A man was arrested after a vehicle fled a police checkpoint and crashed on North Frontage Road, authorities say.
On December 12, officers with the Starkville Police Department were conducting a driver’s license checkpoint near Highway 389 and Garrard Road when the driver of a vehicle evaded officers. The pursuit was called off due to safety concerns. The vehicle was later found wrecked by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, Lanforth Lee, 36, of Shuqualak, was arrested on December 16 and faces charges of felony fleeing, reckless driving, and failure to signal. Gina Hill, 38, of Columbus, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact, a felony, police said.
