Pike County deputies seize drugs and firearm during Magnolia search

Pike County sheriff’s deputies seized drugs and a firearm during a search in Magnolia on Jan. 6, 2026, authorities said.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and Gang Unit executed a search warrant at Ricky B. Wells’ residence as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Officers recovered about 1,635 grams of suspected cocaine, 110 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and roughly 88 doses of suspected Suboxone. A firearm was also found near the suspected narcotics.

Wells faces charges including aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in controlled substances, and possession of a Schedule III drug, the sheriff’s office said. The investigation remains ongoing, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty, officials said.
