Lowndes County sheriff’s office seeks victims in theft case
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying additional victims in a theft investigation on the north side of Columbus, Mississippi.
Deputies responded Tuesday, December 30, 2025, to a report of multiple thefts at a residence on the 1200 block of Park Circle. The victim told deputies that someone entered his property three times and stole items from beneath his patio, with the total stolen value exceeding $1,500.
The victim provided deputies with video recordings and photographs of the suspect. Investigators identified Leroy Fearce as the suspect. On January 2, 2026, Fearce was arrested on a probation violation warrant.
During questioning, Fearce admitted to taking the property and led deputies to the stolen items, which were recovered. Authorities also recovered additional property believed to belong to other individuals.
The sheriff’s office urges anyone who recognizes Fearce, has had him work on their property, or has experienced missing or stolen items, to contact them. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the P3Tips app or by calling (662) 328-6788. The agency appreciates the public’s assistance in the investigation.
