Agents seize more than $1 million in drugs, arrest 2 in Mississippi

On Feb. 5, 2026, agents from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, with assistance from the Capitol Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Jackson Police Department, executed search warrants at two residences in Jackson and one in Brandon, Mississippi, and arrested Sean Antonio King, 49, and Latonya Hopson King, 50, the bureau said in a post on the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Facebook page.

Investigators identified Sean King as a multi-drug distributor operating in the region, and the seized narcotics are estimated to be valued at more than $1 million, the bureau said.

Latonya King was charged with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm within 1,500 feet of a school; aggravated trafficking of fentanyl while in possession of a firearm; aggravated trafficking of powder cocaine while in possession of a firearm; and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, the bureau said. Sean King faces the same trafficking and possession charges and an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities reported seizing approximately 146 pounds of methamphetamine; about 7 pounds of fentanyl powder and roughly 65,000 dosage units of fentanyl pills; about 2.2 ounces of crack cocaine; about 4.4 pounds of powder cocaine; six firearms, including two rifles and four pistols; three vehicles — a Honda Accord, a Dodge Ram truck and a Mercedes-Benz SUV; two Rolex watches with an appraised value of about $42,000; and $23,299 in U.S. currency.

“Operations like this highlight the dedication and hard work of our law enforcement partners across the state,” Commissioner Sean Tindell said in the post. The investigation remains ongoing and agents said they continue to follow additional leads. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
