Actor Chadwick Boseman passed away on Friday surrounded by his family.
Boseman apparently had battled Stage III colon cancer for the last four years without releasing his diagnosis to the public. It had progressed to Stage IV recently.
Boseman had played many roles throughout his career, but he recently gained worldwide fame through the role of T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” said a statement posted to his Twitter feed. “It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”
He is survived by his wife and family.
He was 43.
