Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council meeting draws 91 attendees
The Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council’s biennial membership meeting drew 91 attendees, including private landowners, state and federal agency staff, forestry consultants, natural resource professionals and other partners interested in advancing prescribed fire in Mississippi.
The meeting featured presentations and discussions on burning on private lands, prescribed fire research, wildlife management and ways the Fire Council can better serve its members. The council said it is back and plans to build on momentum from the meeting.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks directed property owners seeking information about using prescribed fire to manage their land to www.mdwfp.com/privatelands.
