McRae elected treasurer of national association
Oct. 9, 2024 – Mississippi State Treasurer David McRae has been elected Treasurer of the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT). NASACT serves as the premier organization working to bring together state officials tasked with the financial management of state government.
“Since becoming State Treasurer, I have held a belief that Mississippi could be a model for the nation,” said McRae. “This NASACT leadership position gives us a new seat at the table to share this incredible narrative we’ve created. As the national economy faltered, Mississippi produced historic investment returns. When America’s credit rating weakened, Mississippi’s remained strong. When the federal government was taking more money from hardworking Americans, Mississippi was returning more than $100 million in unclaimed money to our citizens. We have a good story, and I’m proud to tell it on a national stage.”
McRae also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) and was appointed by Gov. Tate Reeves to serve on the Balanced Budget Interstate Compact.
