MBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Amory

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Amory Police Department that occurred on Dec. 6 on Tschudi Street in Amory. MBI received notification at approximately 7 p.m. of the incident. 

Officers were responding to a call for service regarding a subject firing a weapon. Upon arrival, the subject began to fire the weapon towards the officers. Officers discharged their weapons, striking the subject with fatal injuries. The officers involved did not receive any serious physical injury.  

MBI is currently assessing this incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the  investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
