Continuing a tradition established last year, Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann has invited Mississippi high school choirs to perform every Tuesday at 12 noon in the Capitol Rotunda while the Legislature is in session.
Members of the Holmes County Central Singers from the Holmes County School District, directed by Pierrdro Gallion, performed on Tuesday, Jan. 2, the opening day of the 2024 Legislative Session.
“The Session is a hectic and busy time,” said Hosemann. “Listening to choirs from across the state for a moment allows us to slow down and think about the important job we have been entrusted to do. This also gives our high school students a chance to visit our Capitol and learn about our system of government.”
