Booneville Safety Checkpoint Leads to Drug Arrest

A safety checkpoint on South Lake Street in Booneville has led to the arrest of a Booneville woman who was subsequently charged with possession.

Tanya Rogers Savell, a 46 year old white female from Booneville, was taken into custody after officers found that she was in possession of methamphetamine.

According to the Booneville Police Department, the officers believed she may be in possession by the interaction during the investigation.

The Criminal Investigation Division took over the case and Savell was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams.

A Prentiss County judge set her bond was set $5,000.00 and case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
