The Vicksburg Police Department said it responded on Feb. 8, 2026, to a report of a domestic disturbance at New Main Apartments on Alcorn Drive during which a woman was reportedly shot.
The department said a male suspect fled the scene and ran into a nearby wooded area. Officers were conducting an active search of the area and treating the matter as an ongoing investigation, the release said.
The woman was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment, the department said. Officials did not provide details on her condition.
