Utility asks electricians, homeowners to report repaired weatherheads
A local utility office asked electricians and homeowners on Facebook to call its office after repairing damaged weatherheads so crews can update records and reconnect power, the post said. Customers were asked to call 662-234-6331 to notify the office.
A weatherhead is the protective cap at the point where overhead electrical service enters a building, designed to keep moisture out of the service conduit and protect wiring. Damage to a weatherhead can interrupt service or create safety hazards if not properly repaired and inspected.
The utility said updating its records helps crews prioritize reconnections and confirm that repairs meet safety standards. Licensed electricians typically perform repairs to ensure compliance with local electrical codes; the utility must often inspect the work before restoring service.
Homeowners and electricians who have completed repairs are asked to contact the office at 662-234-6331 so a crew can be dispatched to reconnect power. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
