Pike County Sheriff’s Office posts public relations notice

Pike County Sheriff’s Office officials on Tuesday posted a notice from their Public Relations Department on the agency’s Facebook page, the office said. The brief message identified the post as news from the department and included the agency motto, #ServiceBeforeSelf.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for the county and is responsible for patrol, investigations, jail operations and community outreach. Public relations releases are a routine way for sheriff’s offices to share information about public safety, upcoming events, policy changes and community programs.

Local law enforcement agencies increasingly use social media to provide timely updates, promote transparency and engage residents. Posts from public relations offices can help the community learn about safety alerts, road closures, crime prevention tips and ways to contact the sheriff’s office.

The Facebook post did not include additional details beyond the notice heading and agency motto. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
