Organizers thank participants after women’s self-defense class, schedule April 21 session

Organizers thanked participants after a recent Women’s Self-Defense Class and announced a follow-up session scheduled for April 21, officials said in a Facebook post.

The post expressed appreciation for the women who attended and noted that their willingness to learn and engage helps make the classes impactful. Organizers said instructors aim to share practical, real-world skills designed to help keep the community safe.

The next class is set for April 21 at 6 p.m. in the OPD training room at the police department, the post said. Such workshops typically focus on awareness, basic defensive techniques and building confidence, organizers added.

Community self-defense programs are often used by local departments and organizations as part of broader outreach to improve public safety and foster relationships with residents. Organizers encouraged interested people to monitor their social media channels for any updates or registration details. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
