Mississippi public safety summit draws more than 900
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post that the fourth annual Public Safety Summit drew more than 900 registered attendees from law enforcement, fire service and prosecutors across the state.
Organizers said the multiagency gathering offered opportunities to learn, collaborate and strengthen public safety in Mississippi. The department named speakers including FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey, Scott Payne, Phil Chalmers and Travis Howze.
The department thanked staff and volunteers who planned the event and acknowledged the partnership and support of Attorney General Lynn Fitch and her office. The department added, “Mississippi is stronger when public safety works together.”
Annual summits of this kind are designed to improve coordination among agencies, share best practices and provide training to frontline responders and prosecutors. Officials said the event was intended to bolster relationships that affect public safety across the state.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
