Mississippi Bureau of Investigation holds second annual general assembly

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation recently hosted its second annual general assembly, bringing together agents and staff from across the state, the agency said in a post on the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Facebook page.

Agency leaders provided highlights and operational updates from each regional major, the crime scene unit and the special operations group, the post said. The sessions showcased ongoing investigative work and coordination intended to support public safety throughout Mississippi.

The bureau congratulated this year’s award recipients. Tammy Black of the MBI Victim Assistance Coordinator unit was named MBI Support Staff of the Year, and Norman Harris of MBI District 1 and the FBI Civil Rights Task Force was named MBI Special Agent of the Year, the post said.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is the state’s primary criminal investigative agency and often holds meetings to share best practices, updates and training across divisions. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
