MDOT reports ice on roads, bridges in 14 Mississippi counties

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, there are reports of ice on roads and bridges in 14 counties across the state.

MDOT said the report covers state-maintained roadways — interstates and highways — and does not apply to local roads. The counties cited are Alcorn, Benton, Bolivar, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah and Tunica.

MDOT is asking motorists to travel only if necessary in areas affected by winter weather. Officials urged drivers who must travel to use extreme caution and to give MDOT crews space as they continue working this winter event.

For live road conditions, MDOT directed drivers to download the MDOT Traffic app from the App Store or Google Play or to visit MDOTtraffic.com. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
