Man fatally shot during domestic disturbance on Lake Glen Drive
A 35-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday during a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on the 600 block of Lake Glen Drive in Jackson, police said.
Officers with the Jackson Police Department’s Precinct 3 responded about 7:21 a.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance, the department said. When officers arrived they learned that shots had been fired and found a man lying at the front door of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later identified the victim as Michael D. Monger, 35, and said his next of kin has been notified. Several individuals were inside the home at the time of the shooting, and weapons and shell casings were recovered from the scene, police said.
The department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit responded to assist with the investigation, and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office coroner also responded, police said. Multiple people were taken to Jackson Police Department headquarters for questioning by homicide detectives. As of Sunday, no arrests had been made.
