Jackson police investigate double homicide on Dogwood Trail

JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating a double homicide after two men were found dead late Sunday night in the 5300 block of Dogwood Trail near Oakridge Road. Officers with Precinct 1 were dispatched about 10 p.m. March 2 in response to a reported shooting, the Jackson Police Department said.

Upon arrival, officers located two deceased individuals: a black male lying in a ditch and a white male lying in the street nearby, police said. Authorities identified the victims as 31-year-old Antonio Arnold and 63-year-old Glen McWilliams, and the department said next of kin for both men have been notified.

The Jackson Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit responded to the scene, and the Hinds County Coroner’s Office also was on site, police said. Those units typically investigate violent crimes, process evidence and work with the coroner on identification and cause-of-death determinations.

The case remains under active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477). We will provide more information as it becomes available.
