Gulfport Police swear in deputy chief, commander

Deputy Chief Clayton Fulks and Commander Gregory Peleaz were officially sworn in yesterday, the Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The department congratulated the two officers, saying the milestone reflects their years of dedication, leadership and commitment to serving the community and the Gulfport Police Department.

Deputy chief and commander are senior leadership positions that typically involve oversight of major operations, personnel and community policing efforts. Changes at that level can affect departmental priorities, resource allocation and outreach with residents.

The Facebook post encouraged the public to join in congratulating the newly sworn leaders and included hashtags such as #GulfportProud, #Lead, #Inspire and #Motivate. The post did not provide further details about the ceremony or the officers’ previous assignments.

The Gulfport Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for policing the city. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
