Deputy Jovas Haynes earns February employee of month

Deputy Jovas Haynes was named February employee of the month by his department after being recognized for tireless dedication during a recent winter storm.

Haynes is assigned to C-Shift Patrol and serves as a certified field training officer, the department said in a Facebook post announcing the honor. The post credited him with working countless hours and going above and beyond to assist and support the community during severe weather conditions.

The department said the entire staff demonstrated exceptional commitment and teamwork during the storm, but that Haynes stood out after receiving numerous acknowledgments from community members praising his willingness to go the extra mile, particularly in assisting citizens and elderly residents.

Patrol deputies typically respond to emergency calls, conduct community patrols and enforce traffic laws, while certified field training officers guide and evaluate new officers as they learn on the job. The department said Haynes’ service reflects high standards of professionalism and compassion and that it is proud to recognize his efforts.
