CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. — Authorities continue to seek information in the disappearance of Frank Garcia, a 35-year-old man last seen Feb. 16, 1994, walking away from his residence on Highway 8 East in Houston, Mississippi, carrying clothing and personal items, officials said.

Investigators said Garcia left with two garbage bags of clothes, a 19-inch television and a box of important papers. He was not reported missing until nearly a week later after he failed to pick up two paychecks from his employer and no one had heard from him, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department said.

Authorities describe Garcia as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos reading “Nancy” on one arm and “Ginger” on the other, investigators said.

The case remains open and is being investigated by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, a state law enforcement agency, and the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department, the local law enforcement agency. Anyone with information about Garcia’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Mississippi Department of Public Safety at (662) 563-6400 or the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department at (662) 456-3513.
