Union County School District recognized its technology staff on National IT Professionals Day, thanking them for keeping district technology running, classrooms connected and staff and students supported.
The district specifically thanked Chris Garrard, technology director; Karen Taylor, technology support specialist; and Peyton Taylor, assistant technology director. The district cited their time, patience, problem-solving and dedication to UCSD each day.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
