Sheriff Joey East and SRO Sgt. Michael Bevill recognized three Lafayette Upper Elementary students as the Sheriff’s Students of the Month for September, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office.
Ava was selected from Mrs. Roberts’ third-grade class, Aiden from Ms. Malone’s fourth-grade class and Noah from Mrs. Jackson’s fifth-grade class.

The students were chosen by their teachers for their character, leadership and the positive example they set for their classmates. The sheriff’s office said the students represented respect, responsibility and kindness.
