Northwest Mississippi Community College holds centennial kickoff celebration

Northwest Mississippi Community College held its Centennial Kickoff Celebration with students, employees, board members, alumni, community members and government officials in attendance.

Gov. Tate Reeves congratulated the college on its accomplishments and declared September 8 as Northwest Day in Mississippi.

After the event, Dr. Heindl and the family of Northwest icon Dean McCormick unveiled McCormick’s portrait. Dr. Brad Smith then unveiled a historic marker that will be displayed at the college’s campus entrance in Senatobia.

A reception followed in the R.C. Pugh Library, where exhibitions were displayed throughout the building.
