Northeast Mississippi Community College hosted an Honors Luncheon for some of the area’s top academic students and their school counselors at its campus in Tigertown.
The event recognized the students’ academic work and achievements while giving them an opportunity to learn more about what Northeast has to offer, according to the college.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
