Lee County deputies arrest four in mailbox vandalism in Palmetto

Lee County deputies arrested four suspects after reports of vandalism in the Palmetto area early Saturday morning, according to the sheriff’s department.

Authorities responded to multiple reports of mailboxes, vehicles, and structures damaged in the late evening hours of December 27, 2025. Deputies stopped a suspect vehicle and recovered evidence linking the suspects to the crimes.

Three adults, ages 18, and one juvenile were detained and taken to detention centers. The adults face multiple misdemeanor charges of malicious mischief, while the juvenile faces one charge and will be referred to youth court.

Officials say the department will not tolerate this type of criminal activity. The investigation remains open, and additional charges are possible.

Residents who believe they were victims are encouraged to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Department at 662-432-2600 or call 911 for non-emergencies at 662-869-2911. More details about the arrests will be released soon.
